Rising to 2,608 meters above sea level, the Stampol Crater Rim rewards hikers with sweeping views of Rinjani’s vast caldera, distant glimpses of Segara Anak Lake, and unforgettable sunrise and sunset panoramas—all without the crowds found on the main Rinjani summit routes.

The trek begins and ends in Nangka Rempek Village, North Lombok. Along the way, you’ll pass through untouched rainforest, spice plantations, and steep mountain trails, making this route ideal for trekkers with moderate to high fitness levels who want a challenging yet deeply rewarding journey.

06:30 AM – Breakfast & Transfer
After breakfast at your accommodation, our team transfers you to Nangka Rempek Village, the starting point of the Mount Stampol Trek. Registration is completed at the local trekking office and national park post, followed by a short briefing from your guide.


Nangka Rempek Village – Jebak Gawah (Forest Gate)

  • Distance: ±1.5 km

  • Terrain: Farmland & spice plantations

The trek begins with a gentle walk through open farmland and spice plantations, passing coffee, clove, and vanilla crops—a pleasant warm-up in fresh mountain air.


Jebak Gawah – Post 1

  • Distance: ±2.5 km

  • Terrain: Dense tropical rainforest

Entering the forest gate known as Jebak Gawah, the trail becomes cooler and shaded. This rainforest section is rich in biodiversity—you may hear birds, spot butterflies, and occasionally see monkeys.
A short rest is taken at Post 1.


Post 1 – Post 2 (Lunch Point)

  • Terrain: Steady uphill forest trail

A gradual climb leads to Post 2, where you enjoy a longer break. Our porter prepares a hot lunch and fresh fruit, giving you time to recharge before the steeper ascent.


Post 2 – Post 3

  • Distance: ±1.5 km

  • Terrain: Steeper mountain trail

The trail becomes more demanding with consistent elevation gain. The forest thins, the air cools, and signs of higher altitude become noticeable.
A short rest is taken at Post 3.


Post 3 – Stampol Crater Rim (Campsite)

  • Distance: ±1.5 km

  • Terrain: Steep trail, open ridges

The final ascent is the most challenging—and the most rewarding. Panoramic views begin to open as you climb higher.
Arrival at Stampol Crater Rim (2,608 m) marks the end of Day 1.

Enjoy a breathtaking sunset, followed by a warm dinner and hot drinks before resting in your tent above the clouds.


Day 2: Stampol Crater Rim – Nangka Rempek Village

Sunrise at Stampol Summit
Wake early to witness a spectacular sunrise as the landscape slowly reveals:

After sunrise, enjoy a warm breakfast, take photos, and prepare for the descent.


The descent follows the same route back. From Stampol Crater Rim to Post 3 (±1.5 km), the trail is steep with loose soil, requiring careful footing. Your guide sets a steady and safe pace.

Continuing from Post 3 to Post 2 (±1.5 km), the forest returns, the air cools, and the gradient becomes gentler.

From Post 2 to Post 1 and Jebak Gawah Forest Gate (±3.5 km), you walk through lush rainforest accompanied by natural forest sounds. At Jebak Gawah, a lunch prepared by our porter allows time to rest before the final stretch.

The final walk passes through farmland and spice plantations (±1.5 km) back to Nangka Rempek Village, where the Mount Stampol Trek concludes. Your driver will be waiting for transfer back to Senaru, ending a peaceful and scenic adventure inside Mount Rinjani National Park.
